Great Backyard Bird Count @ Barnegat Bay EcoCenter

Calling all birders! Beginner to advanced birders are encouraged to join us for our free Great Backyard Bird Count at Browns Woods. Come meet us for a 45 min walk to help the bird populations in New Jersey. Chief Naturalist Chris Claus will be leading the bird walk and count.

Earth Day Rain Barrel Workshop @ Barnegat Bay EcoCenter

Celebrate Earth Day by slowing storm water from reaching the Bay. Following a short presentation and tutorial, participants will complete their barrel for use at their home.

Donations help pay for rain barrel supplies and delivery.

Volunteer Trainer and Beach Sweep @ Barnegat Bay EcoCenter

Being a volunteer or intern for Save Barnegat Bay can be anything from participating in trash clean ups, helping out at festivals, or showing up to public hearings to protest over development. Whatever the role you would like to play in the Save Barnegat Bay community, we want to give you the tools to do it well! Join us for a volunteer trainer immediately following a COA Beach Sweep of Browns Woods. Clean up from 9:00 am-11:00 am and the volunteer trainer will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Come for one or both. Light refreshments provided. See you there!

Great Backyard Bird Count @ Save Barnegat Bay

Save Barnegat Bay is hosting the annual Browns Woods Great Back Yard Bird Count at the Barnegat Bay EcoCenter. Our special guest Naturalist Chris Claus will be leading the walk through our beautiful 40 acres. In addition our Board Member and avid birder Kevin Knutsen will be leading the data collection effort for Cornell Lab of Ornithology. See below for more info about the national event. We will have a limited number of binoculars for borrow on the day of the event.
