Upcoming Events

Save Barnegat Bay has joined the coalition of environmental organizations to discuss alternative options for Six Flags Great Adventure’s proposed solar farm. Although we support solar energy and are excited that they are taking the initial steps to introduce solar energy to their park here in NJ, we are deeply upset that they are planning on clear-cutting 66 acres of forest, some of which contains important habitat for migratory species, endangered species, and the headwaters to a major river that flows into the Barnegat Bay. This could be catastrophic for the ecosystem and the watershed. Please come out to the hearing and stand with us in opposition of this disastrous proposal.
Save Barnegat Bay will be joining the public at the Barnegat Bay Research Forum, sponsored by our partner organization the Barnegat Bay Partnership. Come out and hear the resent research from NJDEP scientists, as they delve into the health of the bay, stresses to the environment, and new management strategies. Registration is required. Email Terri Tucker at [email protected]
Join the Barnegat Bay Partnership as they present the State of the Bay with several panel discussions about key indicators in the bay. Our Executive Director, Britta Wenzel, will be part of the panel discussions.
Save Barnegat Bay will be at the Jersey Friendly Yards conference hosted at Ocean County College by the Barnegat Bay Partnership. Speakers for the day include Doug Tammany author of Bringing Nature Home. Get in touch with Karen Walzer at [email protected] to sign up for this exciting and informative event!
Being a volunteer or intern for Save Barnegat Bay can be anything from participating in trash clean ups, helping out at festivals, or showing up to public hearings to protest over development. Whatever the role you would like to play in the Save Barnegat Bay community, we want to give you the tools to do it well! Join us for a volunteer trainer immediately following a COA Beach Sweep of Browns Woods. Clean up from 9:00 am-11:00 am and the volunteer trainer will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Come for one or both. Light refreshments provided. See you there!
