Plastic is plaguing waterways across the world. It can feel like an insurmountable and overwhelming problem. The good news is that our local municipalities and state government leadership here in New Jersey are taking a stand against single use disposable plastics that contribute to the global plastic pollution problem. Join us on April 7th for a virtual access to “The Story of Plastic” followed by a Q&A discussion with two of Ocean County’s leading experts on recycling and plastic waste. Angela Anderson Sustainability Coordinator for Long Beach Township and Tanara Hall from the Island Heights and Ocean County Sustainability Teams are teaming up with Save Barnegat Bay to answer questions about plastic recycling, give you the information about the new plastic bag ban, and offer insight to plastic waste and recycling in Ocean County.
