Below are some numbers that may help you deal with certain environmental predicaments:
NJDEP Land Use Regulation "Person of the Day" This Trenton office will help you find out if there is a state permit in existence for a site you are concerned about. 609-292-8262 CAFRA Field Enforcement Office This is the local branch of the State of New Jersey DEP Enforcement. 732-255-0787
US Fish & Wildlife Service Realty Office Call this number to find out if a tract of land is elgible for inclusion in the Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. phone: 413-253-8591; fax: 413-253-8480 email: axel_larson@fws.gov
US Army Corps of Engineers - Philadelphia office. Call this number in situations concerning dredging, wetlands, and docks and bulkheads that affect navigation. [Note: These situations also require DEP approvals. See above.] 215-656-6733 Ocean County Soil Conservation District Call them if you see anything running off from a site that is under construction. 609-971-7002
For Local Planning Issues Phone your town hall (in the blue pages of your phone book) and ask for the Planning Department or the person most familiar with planning issues. Also feel free to call Save Barnegat Bay at 732-830-3600.
If you see an incidence of pollution such as an oil spill or slick:

If you see dirty water that you think should be reported:

If you observe illegal dumping on land or sea:

For All Terrain or Off Road Vehicle abuses Call your local town hall, they DO have power to stop violators unless the users have the express written consent of the property owner.
If you need to empty the marine toilet or holding tank on your boat:
Marine Sanitation Pumpout Boats Funded by the County of Ocean, these boats operate Friday through Monday from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September.
- Baymen’s Museum boat, "Waste Watcher" – covers Tuckerton Creek & Little Egg Harbor.
- Seaside Park boat, "Circle of Life" - covers central portion of bay, including Tice’s shoals.
- Brick boat, "Bay Saver" - covers the upper Bay and Metedeconk River.
All boats use VHF Channel 9.

If you find a stranded seal, dolphin, whale, or sea turtle: Marine Mammal Stranding Center This is a not-for-profit organization. You should consider making a contribution if they are of assistance to you. 609-266-8300 or 609-266-0538
If you need to dispose of household hazardous waste:
Ocean County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program The county schedules pickups for household hazardous waste at designated sites in the spring and fall. It is free, but you must pre-register. Learn more at http://www.co.ocean.nj.us/hazard.htm 1-800-55-RECYCLE
If you need information on recycling in Ocean County:
